A break…

In order to work on a number of things, including the new bottles and the blending I should be doing on Bouquet Blanc and Opal, I’m taking the cart buttons down temporarily for the bottle sizes. I’ll leave the samples up for sale and I’ll add the 2 ml sample spray vials, both empty and full, because I know some people will be anxious to get those.

One issue contributing to this break: I have trouble with tendinosis in my wrists and periodically need a rest for them, and I’ve hit one of those stages now. This is just something I have to work around and is one reason progress goes a little slower for me than for others. I’m working without a partner or full-time help, and my wrists slow me down too. Itโ€™ll give me a push to get back to the new scents though because formulating is something I can do while I give my wrists a little recovery time. I do have a wonderful part-time helper a few hours twice week and she can help me keep the sample orders going.

For tonight I just disabled the cart, but I will fix things better and make the new samples available. I’m really sorry for this inconvenience, but it’s something I need to do.

  1. Laurie,

Oh don’t you worry about any of this.
You need time to rest and help your body heal, without health there is really nothing else that matters.
I have R.A. and fibromyalga and try as my might to keep goin’ and goin’ sometimes my body just says ‘Enough!’

And then I have to listen to it.

So take it easy and all your fans will be ready to receive your work when you are feeling better. We want you to feel better. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m excited about Opal coming back,
    I’m anxiously awaiting her arrival.
I do so love Opal.<3<3<3 My powder puff of loveliness.

I'm also wanting a FB of Tabac Aurea now and more Voile de Violette as I went through that 5 ml this spring and summer.
    Ready for a FB!

    You do good Laurie!
Thank you. And get well soon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Yours, Tamara Jackson

    • Hi Tamara,

Thanks so much for your sweet reply! I’ve had this for many years, since I typed too many hours as a tech writer a long time ago. It just lurks and pops up if I push too hard and it’s better to catch it earlier than later when it flares up. Am sure you know the territory after coping with RA!

This has contributed to some times I’ve taken the cart down over the years, though last summer’s break was when my Mom injured her back and I had an unexpected issue pop up that required a lot of paperwork. Always something in all our lives, lol.

      Many thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Well, this is turning into a health-related post!
    But seriously –
Tamara – I feel for everyone who gets RA. My husband was diagnosed 2 years ago though he’s been suffering for many years. His rhumatologist is still trying to find the right treatment for him, so it’s been frustrating and I can’t begin to imagine the kind of pain he (and you) go through. It’s tough for those around you who love you and can’t do anything to help ease your suffering. Take Care!
Laurie – Though my own experience with tendinitis a few years back is not chronic, I at least have some idea of what it feels like when you have a flare up. Hope the rest will be helpful to you and glad your helper has worked out well for you.

HUGS!!! (No reply necessary – save your wrists….)

    a:)

  3. Dear AnnYM,

Oh! I’m so sorry to hear of your husband’s health troubles,

RA is vicious in it’s attack cycle,
it’s crazy how your body turns on itself.
And without support , it makes your disease so much worse so how fortunate he has you to comfort and be there for him.
Continue to be so, people with RA I feel are warriors, you never realize how strong you are in your spirit and mind until your body is not part of the equation.
People take that for granted .
I am sending my prayers and good wishes to your family.
Has he tried Meloxicam or Diclofanac for anti -inflammatory help?
Does he take Methotrexate to aid this?
How about Enbrel self -injections or Humira?
These have all helped me tremendously to live fully and have the use of my mobility. And of course loving perfume and enjoying life’s lil’ olfactory pleasures ease all kinds of pain.

If you ever wanna talk to me about this again please don’t hesitate to email me-

  4. thanks Ann! And best wishes both to Ann’s hubby and Tamara — glad you two could hook up here. So much wisdom and kindness on these boards; it makes me happy to see that.

  5. Hello,

only the best wishes from Germany…

Just one question: After the break, will it be possible to order bottles of Pure Incense. I canยดt find it in the fragrance descriptions.

I hope you will feel better soon.

    Stefan

    • Hi Stefan,

Oops! I just fixed that. I’m sorry, it was accidentally deleted when I took the cart buttons down. Yes, it is still available now as samples and will be available in bottles when the cart goes up. In fact, it should be available in the new bottles when the cart goes up. I’ll be posting more about that.

Thanks for catching the goof, and sorry for the confusion! Thanks for the good wishes too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Here’s wishing you a complete recovery regardless of how long it may take. Please get yourself well first. This will still all be here when you’re ready to come back. Your parfums speak for themselves and because of this, your fans aren’t going anywhere.

Peace and health to you Laurie. Aromi.

  7. I hope you are feeling better soon and I know that many people agree with me when I say that the most important thing is that you will feel wonderful soon and we thank you for your lovely fragrances.

Sorry to hear your wrists are hurting. As a writer & gardener I can relate to hand and wrist tendon problems from my own experience (PT, splints, no more power tools, etc). If your condition is at all helped by NSAIDs, I highly recommend the Salonpas patches (the little white ones in the green and white box). You can stick them right on your forearms proximal to your wrists, especially overnight to help your sleep-healing process along. You may find the camphor-menthol-methyl salicylate odor a bit much (especially for a perfumer!), but I find it rather comforting. They are readily available at drugstores, or online. Get well soon!

    • Thanks E! I will look for those. I’ve not tried them, but I’ve been using a topical herbal blend by an aromatherapist that’s good for inflammation and it does seem to help. I’ve healed a lot since July when this flared up. I’m still relying on my assistant for the pipette work though.
